I'd love to see the All Blacks...

Win and win well.

My favourite place to watch the All Blacks is:

In front of an Aussie crowded bar and we win well.

I reckon that...

The AB's are the most gracious team in defeat and the most humble team in victory.

Reply to @jAhNz About All Blacks being taken global by AIG

Believe it or not the All Black brand is global to the extent that even in the good ole USA people actually know about the All Blacks, because they are that well known for their sporting prowess and the records they hold.......... that's one of the biggest deciding factors why" AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP" want to use the All Blacks. Their not introducing them to a new market, their expanding on what is already known in that market.

Their marketing strategy is a simple one...Association to Success = Success.

Firstly let me explain. It's not our job as the All Blacks to grow the game of Rugby globally...that's the IRB's job, we're just a promotional vehicle for the game itself. That's why they fark us over and take the bulk of gate takings and blackmail all companies and home unions into paying them for the privilege of hosting a RWC. We do all the farken work and they reap all the cream but give us a little to keep going.

The IRB handles the promoting and building of these new markets...USA being one of them...eventually it will be the biggest......obviously because of player numbers and corporate $$$$$ believe you me the iRB are and have been into this market for a long time already laying the foundation work to cover their ar$e so the Yankee's can't out maneuver or out smart them.

The USA is one of the biggest growing markets for Rugby in the World, bet you didn't know what the biggest collegic sport participation is in the USA?????? Well it's women's Rugby.....surprise surprise eh..!!!

Also with the Americans hearing that Rugby is being introduced into the Olympics they see this as another marketing avenue that appeals to the corporate sector in a huge way and want in. Google what the Americans spent on the last Olympics.

So with these couple of scenarios playing out behind the scenes....yes AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP are implementing their marketing strategies early by snapping up the best in the World laying the foundation to make it look like a long term partnership before the Olympics and also when Rugby in the USA becomes as big as NFL.

The money their using here now is nothing compared to what will be used when the USA embrace our game in full.

AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP don't give a fark about growing the game in NZ their key interest is the US market....globally we're already there as I pointed out...and you can't count the US market as global because their idea of Global is only within their confines of the USA which equals exactly the same scenario as you have said "World famous in NZ" well to them it's "World Famous in the USA" and they will be proud and arrogant enough to wear that with pride.

Ever wonder why the yanks aren't interested in growing the sport of NFL or Baseball....yes they have outside followers in Japan, etc....which they don't give a fark about...it's all about within the USA.

So again I say bro being short sighted and reading your comments about the game of Rugby going Global....you have know idea whats going on behind the scenes and no idea of what the USA have for future developments of this game.

It's coming brother......it's just a matter of time unless we do something about it here and now at least we can still retain our own dignity , identity and heritage by saying no to this graffiti on our jersey's. AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP want to steal or identity and that starts with our jersey....next??????

Wait and see the next step....they'll want to send down coaches, managers and trainers to learn from the best to take back to the states. They'll get appointments onto the IRB board so they can control the game at the top level. Once they've got their systems in place it's good bye All Blacks, hello World Champion USA team. steroids will be common place .... the game will be broken down into 20 minute quarters to allow recovery time for these steroid abused 140kg players who by the way will paid $10 mill a year through external contracts to play for the USA...no more salary caps etc etc etc.

Yeah this is coming and it starts now with AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP sponsorship of the NZ All Blacks....take something pure and fark it over....why....because they can and their job is made a lot easier with fans like you being a bit short sighted.

Later bro a strange car just pulled up outside with 4 guys dressed in black...and I don't think their from the All Blacks.

We ain't short sighted here you are bro.

AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP may be forking out $20 mill a year but Tews has already indicated he ain't putting any of that dough toward Clubs and unions....so how the fark can you say AIG is gonna secure our future for the 10 - 20 years.

This is big corp dollars for the boys in the back room....Fark wake up and smell the shet thats going on here bro.

Also that $20 mill is only from AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP what about the other $15 plus a year from$$$ from Adidas and the other sponsors where the fark is that going???? Tew said himself Not to grass roots rugby bro.

Yeah good article bro, interesting snippet at the end by Tew as well:

Quote: "We have been able to bring AIG on and retain the Adidas income and got close to getting a similar amount of money.

"We were planning on quite a large deficit next year because we haven't got a high-earning Bledisloe Cup test or an England test.

"So now we've got the comfort of what we'd normally do in 2013 without taking a significant hit on the balance sheet and we'll take time to consider what it means going forward."

Given the perilous state some of the provincial unions are in, it wouldn't be surprising if some of them come cap in hand to the NZRU, looking to benefit from this windfall.
However, Tew said they were not keen on bailing out struggling unions.
"This should not change our view with how we deal with that," he said.

Well there ya go folks....twice the money of the Adidas deal and none for the feeder clubs of home grown rugby. We may have to look to the USA for NFL player leftovers for future stock for the "AMERICAN INSURANCE GROUP ALL BLACKS"......WTF is going on here??? Has our player salary cap suddenly taken a sudden spike with this new found sponsorship to such a degree we can't help our own....so where the money going to seeing as how we now have double what we had????

IGOR your into special ops here, know something from the back room bro????

Seriously...AIG taking us global????

We are global, we"re the world champions and have over 100 years of history to prove our global domination.

Quote: "The ab's are the greatest sporting organisation ever and its time the rest of world found out and you gonna be damn proud of AIG for taking us global????.................WTF is that about? What planet you from????

Hate to tell you bro but the world already knows about the All Blacks, why do you think AIG wants in on the action. Best sporting team in the world pal, highest winning percentage of any team in the world....over 70%, most consistently ranked No: 1 team in the world. Yeah globally their already there bro, don't need AIG to take them there............. only need the money for bus fare to and from games.

Wake up man.

Seriously if AIG want to get noticed put their logo on both the sleeves, slightly towards the front, it will definitely be seen to be seen..............but not and I repeat not..........over the hearts of our beloved All Blacks and the people of NZ.

AK ABs Fan Comment #291

Hear where you coming from bro. As for Adidas, I did...and many others here did at the time felt we sold out losing CCC to Adidas.

Here was a big European player coming down under and buying their way into the heritage that is the All Blacks and at the same time kicking **** over Canterbury whom I and many others grew up with since day one. It was always Canterbury and the All Blacks.

Yeah I was pissed with that but Adidas did something AIG hasn't done. It respected the integrity of the jersey by not overtaking it with it's logo.

By that I mean Adidas didn't damage the image of the jersey, they respected the heritage and understood what the jersey meant to the people of NZ.

When Adidas first signed the AB's they could have done exactly what AIG did....put their logo all over the front and change history forever but they didn't. Adidas did their due diligence and respected our heritage by keeping the jersey clean, maintaining originality as much as possible. Heck when they added the new white collar last year they did that with a lot of consideration and feedback from not only the players themselves but also external canvassing before making the change.

Yes Adidas over the years has earned the respect from the NZ fans and didn't change what is the most recognizable cleanskin jersey in the world and that's why it's so special.

Now it's just another corporate billboard. Nothing special other than being sponsored by an AMERICAN company who seem to have trouble already meeting it's obligations to current clients in ChCh but can put up a shet load for sponsorship??? How does that work, are the good people of ChCh paying dearly for this graffiti on our iconic jersey???

So in answer to Adidas corporate sponsorship, yes they have worked hard to appease the people of NZ while maintaining the integrity of the brand and the image of the jersey itself. Yes Adidas has done a fantastic job for the NZ All Blacks and kept the hearts of the faithful filled with pride for our unique special piece of heritage that no other country in the world could boast about.....until now, now we have just become like sheep....... like all the rest of them under AIG.

Hey @brook, you can't imagine how hard it is for the players to say anything about this debacle.

Personally what they think is irrelevant whilst they are under contract to the NZRFU. They will wear what their told too as part of the contractual agreement. Like you say it would be great if they could speak their own mind but we will never know until they come off contract and write their biographies.

Tew says he consulted all the statesmen from the AB's but what do you reckon their gonna say? I blame Tew for not being more open about public sentiment for feedback, it all comes down to how much we needed not how much we got?

Like Gordon Gecko said GREED IS GOOD, get as much when you can while you can. Look what happened to him.

@ Jackman

You are kidding about this one bro? WTF?

You must have the wrong info....Steve Tew and NZRU would never do business with a delinquent company who don't honor their obligations, you heard Steve say AIG fit the profile and ethics of what the All Blacks stand for and they have done extensive due diligence before signing????

I find that hard to believe that Steve would have missed an oversight as serious as that. Their checks must be in the mail bro.

If it's true just goes to show what Steve thinks of his fellow brothers and sisters. This is a business though, it's nothing personal....but if you want personal insurance...give AIG a call on 1800... farkyou.

@stainlesssteve

Agree with you 100%. We need total transparency about the funding amount, acquittal process and what the plan is for moving forward. Adidas disclosed their sponsorship package so why is AIG different or is that the way the CIA, sorry I mean AIG do business????
