The "Pick the Score" Competition, Winner, Winner... And A Tweet or Two... Thousand!
People of the Blackness, just when you thought the weekend could not get any better, Monday entered your arena, and you realised that such was indeed true!
Yes, Monday opened its door and normality entered the room, seeking to take you captive with its routine. But, we at BackingBlack are fighting for you, and with our first blogging piece this week, we attempted to push play on the Test Match morning that was - with the hope that this gets stuck on repeat.
If you haven't had the pleasure, I will make it very easy for you, O Partner in the Dark Arts. All you have to do is follow the following link, which is to follow... Do you get the... flow? We would also love to be able to enter your world, so we are begging you, PLEASE leave a comment, telling us all about your Test Match experience, in front of the Telly (for most of you, anyway)... which you can do... HERE!
To further help you in your working week rehabilitation, we can announce this very day that there is a Winner - a Winner in the world of BackingBlack. Yes, with a post record 100 comments, we are raising our blogging bat, even as we type-speak.
However, this isn't the winning news. While in our first Pick the Score Competition, the winner was a total of 10 points out from the final score, the Winner in this Pick the Score Competition between the Bokke and All Blacks from Soweto, was only 1 point out, Yes, 1 point away from absolutely nailing it, thereby missing out on a special cash bonus prize of $10,000 for this Test Match only (joking, joking, sadly there was no cash bonus).
Without any further bloviating from the blogging behemoth, it gives me great pleasure to announce, with a total score of All Blacks 29 Springboks 23, commented at 2:01pm, on the 19th August, 2010, the WINNER is Mangler, member # 0006792

Mangler, we will be in touch with you!
Guess what you have won?
Well, we are not telling you, so you'll just have to wait for it to arrive. Do you like surprises? Good! Nevertheless, it does have a name, and we can tell you all about it. You have won... The Tri-Nations BackingBlack Member Mystery Prize Pack... I know, how exciting... It really is! I never win anything, except the joy of posting blogs for all you fellow pilgrims on the road to rugby redemption to read. Pa-lease!
We will have one more PICK THE SCORE Competition for the final Tri-Nations (which is already ours) and Bledisloe Cup (this too) Test Match versus the Wobblies, from Sydney, September 11... and we want 200 members entering, so that so many more of you have the opportunity to let their inner rugby-geek out!
Before I leave you for another post... No, I am not the Tiger Woods of blogging... I have some further letters, arranged to make words, configured into sentences, that I would like to share with you... If you're up for the challenge!
Twitter. Yes, that bird, bird, bird, that blue bird is the word in online social networking, and we are happy to tweet all about it. While in rugby circles, there is only one Twitter King [@NeemiaTialata], and while I am certainly no Queen, I am rather proficient on this platform, and it was with this in mind that we ventured to make Test Match night-to-morning more interactive with the BackingBlack-ness!
Yes, the BackingBlack Twitter account @backingblack was smoking [said with a Jim Carrey accent], so much so that Twitter could not handle the heat, as the kitchen was on fire.
Therefore, if you are not on Twitter, you should be, and you can be... by going HERE!
If you are on Twitter and you are not following either @backingblack or @iamjonnyking... we have some issues to deal with... You do know that we will also follow back, and if we don't you can say, "Hey, Member!"... And we will reply, "Hey, Ho"... [You gotta sing-rhyme that line] Member, and follow suit. You are missing out on possible, potential and future interactions, which very easily occur, one tweet at a time.
I know many members and followers enjoyed the interaction on Saturday night-Sunday morning, making the war against the sleep monster, an easier battle to overcome.
Therefore, and in light of all this...
Let us hear from all our tweeters, and if this post has encouraged you in this connection, please leave a comment, telling us that you are joining the BackingBlack Twitter Revolution.
And, when you get on Twitter, don't be shy, tweet us a line, even just saying, "Kia Ora"... and, Guess what? We may just reply! In other words, we want to connect with you, which means we will get back to you!
I know, Twitter is only 140 characters... Almost too much for a blogging boy!
Time for me to stop and you to go... Now!
Until Next Time

in to read the latest and get the great
news that I'm a winner. I do have to say
that on Sunday morning after I slowed my
heart rate down and then straightened
the furniture following that truly
majestic finish, I did pause to reflect
that perhaps I might have gone close in
your comp. I'm looking forward to my
mystery prize and again thanks. Love
your work!
